چکیده
Lint yields and their underlying yield components can be substantially influenced by genotype environment. Thus, the objectives of current study were to quantify genotypic environmental contributions lint yield, components, fiber quality in multi-site variety trials conducted Arkansas over a 19-year period, identify traits most strongly associated with long-term trends aforementioned traits. Annual assessments included seeds per hectare (SPH), intra-boll parameters. Production environment accounted for higher percentage all variability 15 out 19 years. However, four years identified which greater than contributions. Genotype was dominant driver percent, index, seed score, fibers seed, density, length, strength, uniformity. SPH, micronaire. Correlations between varied from year year, even when primary driver. A regression function that utilized index SPH stronger more consistent indicator variation any single component. Finally, show percent has increased significantly past years, whereas declined 19.6% cotton varieties highest yields.

Associations among Lint Yield, Yield Components, and Fiber Properties in an Introgressed Population of Cotton
Broadening the genetic base is essential for genetic improvement of lint yield and fi ber quality in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). An exotic germplasm population derived from multiple crosses between G. barbadense L. and G. hirsutum was obtained from USDA-ARS at Las Cruces, NM. Experiments were designed to evaluate this germplasm for genotypic variation in lint yield and fi ber quality...
متن کاملGermplasm Potential for Continuing Improvement of Fiber Quality in Upland Cotton: Combining Ability for Lint Yield and Fiber Quality
Exotic germplasm, that is, germplasm without commercial applicability, can broaden the genetic base in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). The objectives of this study were to determine combining ability and identify parents from exotic germplasm for breeding. Twelve regionally adapted exotic germplasm lines were crossed with one cultivar and three elite germplasm lines in a North Carolina D...
